Celebrating World Ukulele Day with a Free Community for Everyone
Happy World Ukulele Day! If there were ever a day that perfectly captured the spirit of this little four-string instrument, this would be it. The ukulele is simple, joyful, and welcoming, and that’s exactly the energy behind my ukulele community, which is now officially up and running and completely free to join.
I’ve been making music for a long time. I started on guitar, toured the country playing lap steel, and along the way fell in love with all kinds of instruments. Autoharps, guitars, you name it, I love them all. But there’s something special about the ukulele that none of the others quite touch.
Pick it up. Strum a few chords. Sing a song.
That’s it.
There’s an immediate joy there. An almost instant sense of “Hey… I can do this.” And that feeling, that spark, is what I want everyone to experience.
One of the biggest myths about making music is that it has to be hard. That you need years of lessons, fancy gear, or some mysterious talent you either have or you don’t. The ukulele blows that myth right out of the water. With just a couple of chords, you can strum and sing a song in a surprisingly short amount of time. You can be a rock star for your kids, your friends, or honestly… just for yourself.
That’s why I created this community.
The ukulele club isn’t about perfection. It’s not about being the best player in the room. It’s about showing up, having fun, and discovering just how accessible music can be. And the best part? The community is completely free.
